SANTO ANTÓNIO (1)

Fernando (2) Bulhão Martins, who took after the name of António (1), was born in Lisboa (4) on 15 August 1195 and died in Padua on June 13, 1231.
Santo António (1) studied at the Sé (3) School in Lisbon. He continued his studies in the Monastery of S. Vicente de Fora (5) and at last he finished his academic formation and religious preparation in the Mosteiro de Santa Cruz de Coimbra (6).
Provided of a brilliant intelligence and of deep acquired knowledge in the Portuguese schools, Fernando de Bulhões, as Santo António (1) is also known, leaves to north of Africa in order to evangelising the Christ’s unfaithful. For a happy chance ends for reaching Padua, and in Assis he knows S. Francisco (7). This one, having become amazed with the intelligence and the deep knowledge of Santo António (1) never more will let him go away. Santo António (1) is named Theology Teacher, he charms for his preaching and fascinates for the miracles that are attributed to him.
